Im sure many people have asked this question before but im going to ask anyway with my own reasonings..

I was given a 1735 from a friend that died and I ran tests and discovered its the motherboard..before I go and buy a new one with cpu..
does anyone know if its possible to put and other newer motherboard and cpu into the 1735??
Im after performance and graphics and thought might see if its possible to have a new laptop in an old housing, laptop modding i guess you would call it..

    thanks

It's not a huge upgrade, but I think you can use the 1737 motherboard, which has a 45-Series chipset and will let you use 1066MHz FSB Socket P processors (ie P8400, T9600). I don't think you can use the 1745 (or higher) motherboard(s) as the 1745 (and higher) has a different chassis altogether.
