I'm receiving my 1737 soon, and if its anything like the Dell I recieved a few years ago (this is, in fact, a replacement being sent), then it will be full of bloatware.

If I were to format and clean install Windows 7, would there be issues finding all the drivers necessary to restore the functionality of the bells and whistles like the media buttons above the keyboard, the wifi detection button on the left side, the webcam, and etc.? I remember having an issue when doing this for my last Dell laptop and want to make sure I don't land myself in an extended egg hunt for drivers this time.

I'm sure someone out there has done this and can comment? All input appreciated!

P.S. I heard someone mention that removal of the stock "IDT" audio drivers actually increased performance of the speakers, though they didn't mention which drivers should be installed as a replacement. Any ideas? Thanks!

Should this have been posted in the Studio Sub-forum?

Go to the Dell support website and either enter your Service Tag or choose your model and download to your heart's content. All the bells and whistles will work - Quickset is what you need for the media buttons and wifi detection. It adds some options to the mobility section of control panel.
