Well, let me say this issue has a happy ending thanks to Dell Tech Support.

I purchased the Studio 1737 new from Dell and it was my first Laptop.

I had it about a month and I got the AC Power Adapter type cannot be determined etc., etc.

Contacted Dell support online and then called, after going through various checks with the battery, adapter and a remote diagnostic the decision was made to send me a new 9 cell battery.

Yup, wasn't the problem, guess again, Ah, the Mobo.

A tech came to my home with the new Mobo and installed it, however my Media Control functions were not lit nor did they work, the functions did work via Media Direct when playing a DVD though.

I contacted Dell Tech support via an e-mail and seems a Cable became unseated and I was able to remove the cover and reseat said cable per their instructions.

Things happen and although I wish it was not my machine Dell has a good tech support.

Make sure if you are buying a Laptop, invest in an extended warranty, I usually don't for most purchases but Laptop issues can get costly. :D
