My 1737 came with Computrace (LoJack for Laptops) available in the BIOS.
When I received the unit, Computrace was disabled in the BIOS.
I enabled it and set the BIOS password to make sure no one else could
access the BIOS except me.
I then monitored the Computrace website and it seemed to ne
calling their facility okay except at times I had reformatted the hard
drive to intall XP 64 bit and Vista 64 bit. I had to atually re-install
the Lojack software for my Stiudio to call Computrace.
But, its enabled in the BIOS. I should not have to install the software.
I contacted Computrace and they say their records indicated I enabled
and then disabled Computrace in my BIOS. Nope..I enabled it and
left it at that.
Now they are saying once its disabled I cannot re-enable it and that
I need the motherboard changed out.
Anyone else having these problems?
I now wonder if Computrace should have been enabled from the factory
as mine was disabled when I got it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have an Inspiron E1505, it has the same Computrace option but by default it was disabled.

enabled right now...
But, they say I disabled it.
Nope..never did...I wonder if they just can't come up with the right answer so they just threw that one out at me...
