    Hello everybody!

I've recently encountered a problem where every time my Studio 17 is supposed to go to sleep mode (closing lid, clicking sleep mode in start menu, etc.) it becomes a hard shut-down, where I have to turn on the laptop again and it tells me that the laptop was shut down improperly.

My power settings indicate that it is supposed to go to sleep mode, but it actually doesn't.

I'm wondering if anyone else has a similar problem and if they have a solution. Hibernation and everything else works.

I've recently updated my BIOS (from A01 to A08), not sure however if this was the reason because I didn't check if sleep mode was working before I updated it.

    Thanks in advance!

NOTE To Self: Stay with A07 BIOS do not update.

I have never seen a machines with more BIO's than the Studio 1737 theres a new one every 4 months.

knock on wood everything is running great. I will not be updating.

I did a update on my dell inspiron before, and after that I was not able to put my computer into standby. I never fixed the problem because nobody helped me, nobody gave me a solution lol but anyways, do you have more than one user account in your computer? log in in a different account and see if you are able to put your computer into standby in a different account, it may work, mine did....
