Hello all, I have a problem that has been gone over before but the fixes that worked then will not work now, don't know why.

My Studio 1745 with Windows 7* 64 screen will not dim when using the FN + F4 or with the power settings. I have tried to update the drivers from Dell and Intel. After downloading the Intel driver (Win7Vista_64_151712) and running it tells me....

"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer."

I know that I downloaded the right drivers, but it will not load.

I tired everythink that was talked about at this thread but none of it has helped.

Have you tried entering the BIOS and lowering the screen brightness. You also *could* have a defective screen.

It is not part of the BIOS that is the problem and no it is not a defective screen. Other people have had this same problem and got it fixed using a driver, but after going to intel's site the drivers will not work as I stated in the OP. The problem is not a hardwear issue, Thanks for trying to help.
