I just bought a Studio 1749 with a Dutch US international keyboard. The US backlit keyboard is the only backlit one and not an option here. :(
The only difference is the missing € symbol at key number 5, for which I don't care so much.

Now I'm trying to find the US backlit keyboard at eBay or Amazon without success. Is there a way to find one aftermarket and get it shipped to Europe?

    Thanks in advance.

you could buy one from Dell US or France and deliver it in the respective country (easiest way is someone you know there of course) and make it send it to you.

But it surely is more trouble than buying from the bay.

Backlit kb isn't an option here in Belgium too, and coulnt find any on ebay either.

    Life is hard ;)

I'm afraid this will be a dead end to call a rep from Dell US for a backlit keyboard and let them send it to Europe. I'll only need patience I think. :(

I am interested on getting a backlit one too, if anyone knows where to get a set please post. I think I seen some of the 1535 etc on eBay.

Are you looking for a Studio 15 backlit keyboard? At eBay you'll find a lot of 1535/36/37 backlit keyboards also some 1555. They look the same to me. So it looks like you can swap all Studio keyboards without paying attention to the model number. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You'll also find Studio 1735/37 backlit keyboards at eBay, but they'll not fit on a Studio 1745/47/49. They're completely different build. It's just hard to get a 1745/47/49 one here in Europe. I'm still looking for an US backlit keyboard without prevail. :(

I am looking for the 17 one too, but seeing so many of these 15** backlit keyboards out there got me wondering why there are none of the new 17 models flying around.

As for the Studio 15 keyboards all models seem to be same.
About the Studio 17 they've changed the keyboard. You'll find a lot of 1735/36/37 backlit keyboards, but they'll not fit in the 1745/47/49. They are different. So I think we'll need some time to wait till the new ones will be offered.

Still if someone knows how to help in this matter, please let me know.

    + rep
This is the information I was looking for.

I got mail from my rep today:
By Dell Benelux yet I can't order any 1749 keyboard at all. I got advice to try to order it by tech support. I gues this is the only way, cause the eBay one is really to much overpriced.
