Ok so i was happy with the new Studio for a while, untill i tried running some games on it. Basically, Running WoW or Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age Origins will be fine for 30 minutes or even 2 hours. Then the game just hard-locks the computer and i have to do a manual hard-reboot. This is quite sad. Should i just call DELL tech support or anyone maybe knows what's the issue?

The heat is NOT an issue, as i monitor the heat at all times and it stays normal, well below dangerous levels. Ram-tested - no problems. All drivers are latest. I Really can't think of anything else :(

Sure does sound like a heating issue to me right when it freezes. try raising the back by placing a book underneath it and then try gaming.

Well, i did think so at first, but i downloaded PC Wizard and tried watching the cpu and gpu temps at all times. cpu never went above 73 in both cores and the gpu never went above 65. I Guess that's pretty normalish?

BUT i then looked at DIMM temps and they're troubling.

In all 4 DIMM slots it sais that temp is around 190. but what is DIMM and can the temp actually be that high? Maybe the PC Wizard is just not showing them properly?

Dual-Inline Memory Module... they are the slots in which your memory is seated. So, these are at 190?? Seems very high.

Okay, so apparently PC Wizard is more for non-laptops, so the temperatures are actually fine.

I brought it to a tech service and they tested RAM, gpu and cpu over night. Ran DVD, 3d mark and ramtest for more than 4 hours each and it all seems fine with the hardware. They even ran Resident Evil 5 emulation for 5 hours. Will have to look at software issues with WoW and mass effect 2 then i guess, cause these are the two games that always crash.
