Is there a way to tell which models have synaptics in them?

Hmm lemmi rephrase that, is there a way to tell for sure without looking for an owner and begging them to run everest/sandra and the like?

I've seen posts stating alps touch pad with synaptics drivers, etc. Would dell ship their laptops with synaptics drivers + alps pads? I'm wondering if there's a way to tell just by looking at the product specs pdf.

Also are pinch zoom/2 finger auto scroll a feature of synaptics only? Are synaptics the only touchpad out there that support multi-touch?

The current Studio 15 (1555) uses Synaptics pads.

The older Studio 15 (1535-1537) use Alps, along with the Studio 14z, and all Studio 17 models (1735-1737).
