Hi All,
Wonder if anyone can help: I'm looking for a thin, light and (relatively) fast laptop for a mixture of office and media (mostly photoshop) work - the Adamo desire seems to fit the bill perfectly, with one problem: It was released 6 months ago with Core 2 Duo upgrades (great) but if I buy one now isn't it likely to be superceded by a Desire with a core i5/i7 processor sometime very soon? Anyone here any rumours on this? Or Even possibly a Studio 13 with i7 now that the Studio 16 has them? Equally, is it possible they might beef up the graphics card in the adamo soon? I guess for photoshop I need something more than integrated intel GPU?
I also have 2 other questions about the adamo desire which dells website seems unable to answer: Does it support TPM 1.2 for Bitlocker encryption and does it support hardware virtualisation which apparently is required to run the Windows XP virtualisation software (XPM) in Windows 7?
Any help much appreciated!
Cheers,
[Mart]

Well I can't answer anything about the laptops, BUT I can tell you this. Hardware virtualization is no longer needed to run XP Mode.

Thanks Kapral - that's useful - presume there must be a performance bump to having that support however? I found this useful link that tells you which processors support it and which don't...

You'll be waiting at least another 6 months for a core based studio xps and probably longer for a core based adamo.
