    Just wondering
i got my studio 17 and as soon as i got it i saw a little youtube video on the fingerprint reader and was wondering if it works well cuz i didnt order it with one but it looks pretty cool and fuctional and i am sick to death of typing in passwords (kind of lazy i suppose)
if it is all its cracked up to be is there any way i could buy one and install it myself?
    thank you for your replies.

The finger print reader is great. But I only use it to log into windows. but 80% of the time I'm always typing my passwords lol.

The fingerprint does work well most of the time and you can use it for quite a bit of stuff inside the operating system, You can get a fingerprint reader for your system however it involves replacing the palmrest with one that has the fingerprint reader which is not too bad but you have to pretty much take the entire laptop apart.

If you don't like typing passwords I'd recommend getting Roboform instead. It's a fantastic piece of software.

Yeah it handles online passwords as it is mainly a browser add-on.

i got the studio 1537 with the fingerprint reader. it works great, but the farking fingerprint reader when your palm goes near it goes off and the beeping noise gets really annoying after about 0.5 seconds. i really need to turn that off.
