Isn't that what the prices were when the T7300 was on sale? (with the T7300 priced where the T7500 is now, etc.)
Besides, what does it matter? Prices change... That is just the way it goes... -
Are they both coming from the same base processor? If one comes with a slower proc, it would be evident that upgrading farther up the line would cost more. If they're both the same base procs, it's just another example of dell's endless deals / crazy pricing on specific coded items / models

i just priced it out...for a vostro starting at 1.6 ghz dual core, his upgrade prices are correct...i didnt check the inspiron prices yet...dell's site is a little slow today

It doesn't really matter. Prices don't have to make sense, Dell can charge whatever the heck they want to charge for a certain computer or upgrade. It's up to you - the discerning buyer - to figure out if you want to pay the asking price.
