Hey, just got my E1705 a few days ago (all decked out with a 7900gs). I know there is probably a thread about this, but I just want to cut to the chase. I found some drivers on www.guru3d.com, they are the
ForceWare 91.31 2000/XP (32-bit) WHQL drivers. I found my card on the compatibility list, and was just wondering if anyone has ever used these before. Also wondering if I need to do any of that INF modification stuff before I can instal these. Anyone think there better/as good as/ worse than the latest dell drivers? Just wondering what other people thought, thanks.

I use them, and i know a 7900GS user that has never had a issue with them. My 7900GTX has a higher FPS in games now, so im pleased.

    Use these:

    No INF modding
Just make sure you download a program like Driver Cleaner Pro, then boot into safe mode, then delete your current drivers. Then start up Driver Cleaner, select nVidia from the list, and clean it. Then install those

(you can download the drivers before you take out the other ones, just wait to install them)

One more question, I know that the 7900gs is undervolted ALOT. Is installing these new drivers going to change the clock speed?

Dell has locked the BIOS so you cannot overclock with a boot disc that can be found at www.notebookforums.com. Search for a thread on overclocking the 7900 GS and you will come up with the file and all sorts of information.

I am using 84.56 v2.40 in drivers, and I personally have found them to be better than 91.31 in terms of benchmarks and fps.

Edit: I went ahead and found the link for the forum for ya. Here you go. Enjoy! :)
