Sunshine Yellow 1720s received?

I ordered my Sunshine Yellow 1720, standard everything, on July 12th. It has been delayed over and over again. ESD is 9/5, but since it's still in the build stage, I'm not very confident that I will receive it on Wednesday.

Customer Care (hah!) says there is no reason for delay. Has anyone ordered a Sunshine Yellow 1720 and received it?

I did not have yellow but I did order pink... which is just as backordered as yellow according to Dell's website... I belive its probably ur processor holding up the process @ this point... they pushed me back today to 9/12/2007... today was my 4th ESD

 

I called yesterday and they said that all parts were in and assured me it would be shipped today. Now they have delayed it until 9/12. They offered to change the cover for me yesterday to get it out, but then said that all parts were in and it wouldn't be a problem. This morning, it's the delay and "I'm sorry ma'am, but the yellow covers are back ordered." I'm getting a little sick of the lies.

 

Ordered Mine July 27th and I'm delayed until October 5th now.....Was sep 5th

 

*eek!* That's kind of alarming...

 

I am speaking with order modification right now to change to Jet Black. It's the only way for me to get it in this century.
OH, online grad classes starting on Monday . . . no computer yet. Otherwise I'd hold out for yellow.

I did that and then was assigned to ONE person that DID follow up with me on a regular basis. No BS and was completely honest with me and rewarded me for my patience. This person gave me their personal extension so that I could contact them directly at ANY time.

 

according to the dell web site yellow still has a delay of about 10 days last i checked...just fyi

 

How do you find out the delays on color lids on the dell website?

 

when you configure one... is been two days and it still says 2 days delay. figures how often dell updates their website.

 

My order went into production on August 23, Sunshine Yellow 1720, 2.2GHz C2D, 2GB Ram, WUXGA, 8600GT, 160GB HDD, BT 2.0, Intel WiFi(n), Home Premium.
When do you estimate, that I'll receive mine?

dell south africa's order status page says, pre-production, I called and they told me 28 September, but that is 'just a random number, thrown out by our system'

I ordered mine July 11. Dell called today to say that it is being built, and will ship on or before the ESD of 9/22.
I am sure they will call you soon.

Now delayed until aprox.19 Oct, was in-production, now in pre-production again, they say that they are waiting on a "base".

 

havent received it yet but is in boxing stage and originally i paid for overnight delivery.
