Ive had windows vista about a month and a half now and I was just wondering if anybody knows when dell is going to make some compatible drivers. I just find it very annoying having buttons like media direct and all the multimedia buttons that dont work.

I expect Dell to make the full transition after Vista releases worldwide. More drivers should be available as soon as Dell begins to ship Vista with most their notebooks.

I spoke to Dell yesterday regarding some driver incompatibility issues yesterday. Currently there are no Vista Supported Drivers for the Ricoh SD/MC reader and probably will need to look for a third party driver. As far as Media Direct they say they are still testing and they are not quite sure if it will work with Microsoft Vista. Which I find hard to believe, but I believe it probably will only work after Media Direct is reinstalled but that is my thoughts. But hopefully a Media Direct Fix for Vista would be nice and easy.

If you remember back in the early days of XP there was not much support for most drivers. It took a year for most things to be supported. Dell should have support for their products when Vista is officially released. Smaller companies might not get support for their products until later.
