Is there any other model or brand that can surpass 7 hours or match? This is the higest estimated battery life I've ever seen for a notebook.

^The Lenovo X60s has been tested to have about 8 hours of battery life.

I've heard of some getting 8-9hrs (portableone is one that does and I think falcon NW once said they got 7-9hrs out of a TL2)

I have an XPS M140. I have personally gotten 6hrs 40 minutes. That with the battery saving feature on, screen dimmed... I suppose you might be able to get more if you undervolt. Also I have heard some sony notebooks having around 10hrs. Laptops that support a modular bay can get loads of battery life.

The most I have gotten is 5hours -
i've gotten 3.5-4hrs out of my 6 cell...so I can see where 7 hours is possible with the 9 cell...
-
Yah, same here on the 6-cell...3.5-4 hours.

After two years in use, my 9-cell M140 can only last for 1.2 hr...

I had a M140 (inspiron 630m), at the beginning it went up to 6.30 ~ 6.45 with low brightness and Wi-Fi off, a year later it still reached 6 hrs under power saving mode.
Supposely Dell XPS M140 can have battery life up to 7hrs w/ 9 cell battery
