    I have a Dell Inspiron 8600. I just bought a set of Logitech X530 Surround Sound Speakers. But, after plugging in everything and stuff, I'm only getting sound from 2 speakers. Is there anyway to check to see if my sound card supports surround sound? I can't imagine why it wouldn't. But then again, it is a Dell...

    your dell will only produce a left/right channel (stereo) only. It has no digital out to be able to support 5.1 speakers.

    could you describe how the X530's connect to a PC cause I cannot find a catalog for them online. is it thru 2 3.5mm jacks (one front one rear)?
    are you connecting ONLY the front and just getting sound from the 2 fronts only?

    [EDIT]: connect the green jack only, and try.

    i am guessing here, but this is how it should be
    orange=center
    green=front
    black=rear

    some speakers can produce the same signal for the rear speakers as the front if u ONLY plug in the front plug (I have a creative 4.1 set that do that, my logitechs are 2.1) so i am not sure if this works for logitech too. I guess if plugging the green/front only doesn't work, a return is ur best option.

    BTW how are the speakers, I chickened out from getting them becuase their low price scared me (too low) [ :p] and so I got the 2.1 Z-3 the ones the have a wood finish (totally love them)

    There's 3 plugs. A black one, an orange one and a green one. I've tried all possible combinations with the three plugs and nothing has worked. Sometimes I get the center speak only, other times the two rear speakers only and other times just the front two. I guess I hafta return them?

    The subwoofer is kind of disappointing to be honest. The speakers are really good quality but you can really hear the distortion in the woofer when you increase the bass gradually. Since I play alot of Hip hop and stuff, it really doesn't suit my needs.
