My kids trashed my Studio 1535 w/ Win Vista and I was looking for a cheap alternative to buying new. The HD has quite a few programs that I want to keep. I was looking for a used or refurbished laptop to swap HD. What other laptops will the HD fit

The HDD will physically fit any laptop made in the past couple years.

If you actually want to be able to use the drive without wiping it, you need to get another 1535. A 1537 or something similar might work.

If you want to plug n play, you need to get the same exact model. It will fit any laptop though. You will MOST LIKELY be able to uninstall all the old drivers and reinstall new drivers and be problem free if you get a different model. I used to do it all the time with a windows XP install when I was going through desktop hardware like mad for overclocking/benchmarking purposes.
