If I use the internet for several hours on my 2002 Insprion 6000 XP, then it beeps, flashes a blue screen (too quick to read), and restarts.

It may be a heat issue. Can you give a little more info like plugged in, on battery, at a desk, on the couch...My friend had an old Dell and it worked fine except when it got hot, so he got a cooling pad and replaced the thermal compound.

I was thinking that as well. I do most of my work on a desk, but have been known to spend a couple hours on a couch arm.

I'll look into getting those. I was just worried it might be a motherboard problem again.
