Dell recently decided to replace my Inspiron 9400/E1705 with a Studio 1737, due to repeated problems with the graphics card. I received the replacement laptop and, a week later, sent back the Inspiron. Trouble is I accidentally left in an old hard drive that doesn't correspond to the system I sent back, by accident. The Inspiron came with a 160GB and I accidentally sent them my old 60GB.
Has anyone else returned a slightly different/lesser part with their old computer, by accident of course? Do you suppose Dell will confront me about this minor oversight!? I would appreciate your experience and/or opinions.

Can you please clarify...you sent them back your *old 60GB*, or is this a typo, and you meant to say *old 160GB*?
And, also it It depends on how thorough of a check Dell decides to do on the return of the lappy? You can either call them, and advise of what happened..or do the *wait and see* approach.
I don't think they will be looking at your return with a *magnifying glass* per se!

it will be fine; they wont even notice

Thanks for the replies. It's not like I'm sending back an empty laptop casing, so it shouldn't be a problem
Cheers.

Since dell refurbs the systems which are sent back to them, I'd say they must be checking them pretty closely.
