Just got off the phone with Dell and ordered a D630 after having problem after problem with my Thinkpad T61.

At this point, I'm just tired of the issues that I've had with this particular Thinkpad and I honestly think that Lenovo rushed this out to market much to soon. They obviously have some driver issues with Vista that are unresolved and perhaps some internal components that just don't work well with Vista.

In particular, most of my issues are related to docking and blue screens for no apparent reason. I like the ergonomics, but I need something to handle mission critical development work and this Thinkpad is just not ready for prime time.

    Good luck

Look at HKINGS's fix for the blue screens. Are you hooking up an external drive to your dock when you turn on the computer?

Is this BSOD a common occurrence for the Thinkpad T61?
If so, I'm definitely gonna reconsider my upcoming purchase of the T61 and switch to the D630 :S.

Nevertheless, congratz on ur purchase and hope it works well.

    Sirius,

If it is true, then it explains everything you say is questionable, ie all you say is just sales talk in mind,

if not it is not funny.

No, that is not the case. The only thing hooked up to my dock is an external LCD, a USB fob for my wireless keyboard and mouse, and some speakers.

    I work for Dell unofficially,

they should pay me for all the products I push at people. LOL

No I don't work for Dell, but I've come to have a deep appreciation for their products, and their support is top notch.

Sirius :chatterbox: is full of it. Dell would not hire someone like him. T61 problems are mostly due to docking stations and driver issues.
