So I'm going to get an e1705..
And I was wondering.. Does anyone have any numbers to show how each one performs? I searched but all I could find were opinions
I could just OC it to get the same FSB and clock speed right? Will the 2MB difference in cache make any difference in things like Photoshop and Supreme Commander?

It's recommended that you never overclock your processor on a laptop. As for the processor, if you can afford it, purchase the T7200.

I don't have benchmarks, but I can tell you I don't think you'll be able to OC.

What are you planning to do with the notebook? That is the single most important thing we need to know to give you decent advice.

I intend to do basic schoolwork and stuff, photoshop, and gaming (like Supreme Commander, World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, etc.)

you most likely won't notice the difference. But what I'm saying is... if you can afford it, go with the better processor because if you ever find yourself in the position of needing a better CPU ... well, you're out of luck. Gaming has always been more GPU related than CPU related.

I can't really afford it but if it really is better enough, I'll get it.

And can I just upgrade the proc later? Like a year from now say I want a better CPU would it be as easy as open the case, pop out the old one, pop in a new one? (like one from newegg or something?)

Ok then I guess I'm just going to get the T7200 and save the 2GB RAM upgrade for later when I can afford it :)

no I meant yes you can upgrade not yes you can afford it. For what you do, I believe you will notice 2G of ram better than you will notice the processor increase. If you do upgrade to 2g of RAM, you can save money by buying memory from other places like newegg and installing it yourself. If you plan on doing that, make sure the 1G kit you get from dell isn't 2 X 512mb sticks but rather a 1Gig Stick.

Agree with Sirius - 2Gb RAM is more important than the CPU upgrade at this point, but get the stick from somewhere else.

You will *not* be able to OC the processor, it's locked.

And yes, a CPU upgrade is possible later, although the max you'll be able to get is the T7600 (the new Santa Rosa CPUs won't fit).
