When is the T7700 becoming available for the 1420 as its already listed on the dell website as a Default for the 1420? and how much do you think the upgrade would be?

it depends, intel has a two new core two duo pro's coming out, the t7800 and t7900 which should make the prices of their other processors fall a bit. to let you know, the performance difference between the 7300, 7500 and 7700 are not very big, so your not getting the bang for your buck. just go with the 7300 or 7500

to be honest with technology everything you by will be outdated in a month. Im pretty sure there is like a rule that they try and half the size and double the power every 18 months or soemthing.
