I live in Canada so I don't have the same access to all the fancy tracking information (ie call in line) that you americans have but I figure they're all made in the same factory anyways.

I ordered the following parts on May 9th:

    XPS1530
    T9300
    4gigs memory
    250gig FFS
    8600GT
    6cell battery
    LED LCD screen

The original delivery was suppose to be today but seeing as my unit has showed as in production since the 9th I figured that seemed unlikely. So I called them up and they told me they're out of T9300 and that the revised shipping day is June 9th. A full month after I purchased it and 2 weeks after the original quote :(. This timing is especially unfortunate because this machine is a birthday present for a June 8th birthday.

Anyone else experiencing a 2 week delay on the T9300?

I ordered mine on May 8th with almost the same specs:

    XPS1530
    T9300
    4 GB RAM
    250 GB 7200rpm HD
    6-cell battery
    1920x1200 LCD screen

Just called the Dell rep... they said it was delayed due to a battery issue and they'd have no idea how long it would take to get here. I got angry and asked to speak to a manager, who then told me there was no battery delay and it was held up because of a processor shortage.

My original delivery date was the 19th of May, but the manager quoted me June 4 as a possibility. Ridiculous.

I don't know about the processor delay, but I don't believe for a minute that that there's not also a battery delay. There have been a number of guys on here who ordered nearly the same specs as me on the same day as me but had a 9 cell rather than a 6 cell battery. Theirs shipped quickly and early, while mine is still hopelessly mired in Build.

Unless Dell just hates me personally and wants to screw with me for amusement, then I have to believe that there's a battery backorder.

6-cell, T8300 and T9300 are all on delay.

Fountain, for the time you've waited and the price you're paying, an Alienware would of been a better buy.

Dell is fan smiten **** if you ask me, if I could get 12 months interest free anywhere else I would cancel my order right now, even if they do plan to ship on time. I dont want to give my money to liars

Oh, I didn't get a bad deal, price wise. Not the best for sure, but not the worst. I ordered on an XPS Sale Monday.

Nope, I've lined up another system from ASUS that I intend to order next week if (er, when) Dell misses their ESD.

I ordered mine on the 12th. Still in Build. Can't see me getting mine on time with an ESD of 5/28 and an EDD of 5/29. Aren't there like 3 days of Boxing following Build?

Uh huh. You go ahead and tell yourself that if it helps. :D

Seriously, I just want mine to get out of Build by my ESD. I'll be happy if that happens, since I'll then have a good idea of when it'll get here. But no way I'm sitting around waiting for some vaporware notebook forever with no end in sight. It'll be pretty hard to put any faith into whatever new ESD they give me, given that the CSR I chatted with "promised" that it'd ship by this one.

Lots of nice notebooks out there. Some that you can actually buy!

I'm guessing it'll probably hop over testing and order status will be in Boxing on Tuesday. Just a guess.

Mine was ordered on May 9th too. The ESD was yesterday.
    XPS1530
    T9300
    4 GB RAM
    160 GB 7200rpm HD
    6-cell battery
    1920x1200 LCD screen
What I couldn't understand is why my friend ordered three days after I did (same spec except for 250 HDD) got his last Tuesday. Called Dell numerous times regarding the long build time and no one seems to be able to come up with an explanation. I guess my money is no good to DELL. Just need to vent.
