I've had my m1530 for a while and this problem just started happening. I'll insert a disc and when I double click the DVD drive in my computer it just wants to burn it (it pops up the "Prepare this blank disc" dialogue). It says that it has "0 bytes free of 2.48GB", I've tried exploring it, I've tried double-clicking...the weird thing is I have read off of this DVD in the past to install a program. It's not just one DVD but a number of DVDs. I've also tried uninstalling the drive and rebooting my computer.

Never ran into an issue like this, any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

**I have Vista Home Premium with SP1

    bump

I know it might be rude but my next step is calling Dell and it took seven phone calls to convince them that I needed a new wireless network card. When they finally did send me a new card I called them back to let them know that the new card had fixed my issues (you know, just in case they have someone else who calls with the same problem), they could have cared less.

    But I digress :)

I had a similar issue on an XP computer, but it might not be the same cause. In my case it happened after copying some files to a CDR using XP's built-in copier. It kept wanting to burn another disc until I located where it was keeping its burning queue and deleted it.

Hmm, I'd feel silly if thats all it was. I'm going to try burning a CD and see if that clears it out. Does anyone know how to clear the queue?

So I burned a disk and now it seems to be working fine...other than the fact the the Drive label is now Apr 11 2008.

Either way I can read DVDs again.

    Thanks!
