I forgot to mention something important to you all, my laptops screen looked not grainy but empty?
Yeah I compared it to my LCD monitors resolution and my LCD monitor kicked its ass. So I thought woah wait, I know dell did not send me a crappy lcd screen that would lose to a matte antiglare screen in color "**** that ****, hell no".
Now what I am reffering to most of you will call it GRAIN. This is not grain.
THIS IS YOUR LCD SCREENS CONTRAST AT 50%.
If you want to bring back the life to your LCD screen, do the following:
This guide is for those with NVIDIA GPUs only seeing how I don't know how this works with a intel integrated chip.
1. Right click your desktop.
2. Select NVIDIA Control panel
3. It will prompt you for either standard or advanced view. To make things easier, click "standard".
4. Click display.
5. Click "adjust desktop color settings"
6. Adjust it to your hearts desire.
I boosted my contrast 10% higher to 60% and it looks vibrant than ever.

Others confirm please?
BTW, my lappy came out to $1337 after taxes and shipping -
I like to up the GAMMA to 60-70% pictures or movies.... when images look too dark

the default setting for contrast is 50%. On a decent monitor, that is the proper setting. These screens are a little bit below average, so you may have to turn it up. Be aware that turning up the contrast will make the highlights and shadows all look the same; light grays and whites will blend together, dark grays and blacks will blend together.

I think mine is a screen issue. The little dots in the screen didn't go away after adjusting the display settings. Thanks for the tip though.

Contrast 60%
Gamma 70% -
No, the 'graininess' has nothing to do with the brightness of the screen or the contrast settings. It's actually like a multitude of colors in each pixel - what you're describing sounds more like dull colors or poor saturation or something similar to that.
TO ALL WXGA+ USERS (1420 and Up) YOU FORGOT SOMETHING!
