Okay. So I basically have 3 choices in regards to TV Cards. I can either buy the AVerTV Hybrid NanoExpress ATSC TV Tuner w/ Media Center Remote Control (ExpressCard) which I can buy direct from Dell ($70/125). Also, I can choose the Hauppauge WINTV-HVR-1500 Media Center Kit (ExpressCard). It is $105. Finally, I can choose the Hauppauge WINTV-HVR-950 (USB) for $70.

    Which one should I get?

I don't know about the first two, but I own the HVR-950. It is very reliable but the USB uses software that eats more of your system resources than a hardware solution. The picture quality is ok if you have the window set to 640x480, but sports can carry a lot of ghosting.

It has the ability to recieve an ATSC signal if you are in the States, but I am in Canada so I have only been able to use it with an analogue signal.

So you think the compromise of a dongle sticking out would be okay? The other two plug in directly to the ExpressCard slot.

You'll have a Co-Ax cable sticking out of your laptop regardless... so it is up to you. One interesting thing to note about the 950 is that once you load the drivers for it onto your machine it wants you to use the same USB port every time. I'd get more feedback about the ExpressCard slot hardware before deciding on the USB alternative.

ExpressCard has much more bandwidth than USB ...
