you need an S-Video to S-Video cable for the video and you need a 1/8" to RCA Stereo jacks for audio (red and white plugs)

plug the S Video cable into your notebook and into your TV or Receiver or whatever. plug the 1/8" into your "headphones" output and the Red and White plugs into your TV or Receiver or whatever.

Press Fn + CRT/LCD (or the icon of a tv/monitor) to toggle between display outputs. Make sure the TV is set to whatever channel the video input is (Component 1 or AUX or something like that).

The Svideo cable must be a 7 pin connector. I found out that it rarely work . Only if u purchased the special cable of Dell . Svideo 7 pin to AV out svideo out.

if you can cycle thru the displays, then that means the external device is being recognized. if it wasn't being recognized, nothing would happen when you hit the Fn key combo.

can you explain what you mean by "switchers between Laptop and external display" ?

oops - sorry ... what i`m refering to as an external display is a VGA connection to my LCD monitor .. not TV .. i tired to force detection of TV displays and the whole laptop screen went blank - and was the same after every successive reboot ..

so if i manage to get a TV properly hooked up - i SHOULD be able to cycle through displays eh ?

p.s - thanks for helping me out - i had no such problem with my fujitsu N6010 so it cant be a cable issue

yeah, if the notebook recognizes the TV, it will let you cycle to it with Fn key combo.

oh man. it was definitely anti-climactic. imagine how good of a race it would have been if rossi had to get up and duel with pedrosa (running defense) and then with hayden. it's the race everybody wanted to see this season. but alas, it wasn't meant to be... so congrats to hayden. and bayliss for coming back from wsbk and basically kicking every motoGP rider's arse.

so, next year we shall see what happens when the doctor is down. does he stay down? or does he come back to kick arse and chew bubble gum while, incidentally, being all out of bubble gum.

if rossi can take an 800cc title; he'll be the only rider with a 500cc title, a MotoGP title, and an 800cc title.

/ok, back to our regularly scheduled thread
