I need your help  ...
I placed a Tailor Made Amex order and Dell sat on it for three days before splitting it up into two individual orders,... one for lojack and a bag and the other for the notebook..
The problem is that they assigned order numbers for the two parts each of which is two days after the cut-off date for Tailor Made.. although the main Dell purchase ID shows the correct order date (well within Amex deadline)...

Does anyone have experience with this? Does this mean that I will not get the tailor made credit? my order is only a good deal if I get this credit...

    any help is much appreciated...

    :)

That's because the bag and LoJack come from totally different places, and they get their own order numbers. They will still be billed together, though...

Actually, I spoke with Dell and Tailormade on the issue and they noted that a Bag, peripherals, etc. that ship from a separate location (on separate order) would post separate from the PC on your Amex statement. Because of that I had to consider the software separate from my total purchase for the reason of the rebate.

I do however have another possible issue. The Dell EPP website was acting up and I actually placed my order with a very kind EPP Representative over the phone instead. Shouldn't matter as the Dell personnel use the web to submit the orders anyways (at least the mall Kiosks do), but it is causing me to worry a little.

Yeah, my order amount is ok even without the bag.. I was more worried about the order date as Dell didn't process until 2 days after...

So my order number gives a order date that's 2 days after the Amex deadline...

As long as they charge you the 2,000.00 or more on one charge then you are fine. If not then you will not get the rebate. I know this is a pain in the behind but that is tailormades rules. Also the date that the order was place matters. It has to be that date. I have done 3 tailormade dell deals already so I know the process all too well. Hope that helps.

I placed the order on the right date, dell processed and split into two separate orders two days later. I guess I'm screwed.

You will not get the rebate if the date doesn't match. You can call tailormade csr and ask. Cancel the order.

You will also not get the rebate because it has to go thru the tailormade dell gateway which inputs the tailormade dell epp id. I know this process very well because I did 3 of them already. Unless you gave the dell epp rep the tailormade amex dell epp id to her over the phone before you ordered which I hope you did. Hope this helps.

I did not use a Tailormade ID. I did not know what Tailormades ID was.

I did attempt to use the link Dell provided but it took me to the regular Dell EPP website and prompted for me to enter my Employer ID. It did NOT automatically load the ID from Amex Tailormade. So I entered my own ID from my employer. Others (in another forum) noted this fact as well, as some posted questions about whether or not you had to use a Dell ID since they got routed to this prompt page as well...no one knew by the way.
