Just a headsup. I talked to a french representative (Wow, a guy that is actually a REAL homebred dude from my region) about the waitings and such (And to know the status of my order). He told me a bit of the 'why' for all the delays.

He says that there's been a shortage of materials (Batteries?) in the US facilities lately, which caused massive delays (He told me up to 10 days of delays for many). He says though, that fortunately, things are going back to normal right now.

    Hope that helped some people.

Considering your own situation... you recieved your notebook rather quickly. Much quicker than most. Such as myself.

I havent received it yet, but the guy said it was in the facility, completely built, waiting to be picked up by the truck.

Even if the order status page still says 'Building'...

My order was actually pretty quick.

I ordered on May 28 and now the estimated delivery date is June 6. It was shipped yesterday and assuming there isn't a horrible truck accident I'm probably going to get it either tomorrow or Monday.

The original EDD was June 20, though. So I don't know what happened.

Huh, called them back, and seems the last tech was wrong.... this tech was able to give me a shipping confirmation and the Purolator tracking number (Shipping company in Canada). So I guess it's on the way out!

He also gave me a case number, probably because their site still shows my system as 'Building'....

BTW I'm scheduled to receive it tomorrow :)

Let us know how it goes Farchord! Hope you get it soon. Purolator is not so bad for deliveries, but I'd prefer if Dell used Fedex.

I think it was just the 6-cell batteries, ordering a 9-cell gets you your notebook faster.

I don't think the 6-cell shortage has been resolved. The ESD difference as of this morning for 6-cell vs 9-cell is about 2.5 longer if you get the 6-cell. This shortage is still ongoing.
