I'm researching into 15.4" wide screens replacement for my Latitude D610.
I have found from Dell's website that the 15.4" Ultrasharp screens are rated at 185cd/m2, whereas the standard 15.4" (1200x800) is 160cd/m2.
Tom's Hardware review of the i6000 ultrasharp screen was measured at 178cd/m2. I don't think 7cd/m2 difference is that big of a deal - the difference could be due to testing/mfg factors.
My question is, does anyone know what the D610's standard 14" screen (1024x768) brightness is? That info is nowhere to be found, on Dell's website or even if I google it.
In addition, does anyone know what other competitor's 15.4" widescreen brightness is? (xBrite, Clearview, Crystal view, etc...). I know, Dell's ultrasharp is not the reflective type...but I'm open to all types of screens for this upgrade.
thanks,

Haha...yes man, this questions is causing me sleepless nights, it will determine who my future wife is, and help me in my cause of world domination.
REALLY....I'm interested...my engineering curiosity perhaps. -
