A few days back when i just ordered my inspiron 9400,
I was inquiring about updating graphics on it. now i know this is not possible from you great guys on here, but you know what the dell guy said..

He said i can insert a graphics card into the expresscard slot on the side..
and told me to go to pc world for one...

    Oh dear.. Oh deary god!
Lol! Dell tech support? i think not.
    Technical Bulls**t more like?!

I said to him there are no expresscard video cards, he insisted there were but were rare. Sometimes i think.. god help dell. some people are just so useless!

I know this is random just thought i'd share the great joke :D :)

    What the ....

I've never even seen a PC card that would be for graphics, let alone an express card for graphics.

I Have a funny feeling he thinks it's a PCI express card slot on the side of the
    laptop.

    Well it's ridiculous though,

That someone can even be doing that job as technical support and not knowing their product?
I mean yes some people don't know everything, but this is basic things? not advanced technical stuff?

    -Sigh-

lol, i thought that a few minutes ago when i saw this thread. To me, when someone says express card, i think of the PCMCIA express slot.

A good hint that someone doesn't know much about computers: He/she works in tech support for some computer manufacturer. They may know policy and other company-specific things, but they won't know a thing about computers. Go figure.

LOL, this is a bit off the subject, but what happen in this thread is the reason I didn't do this. Dell opened a call center in Oklahoma City, and were accepting job applications. Of course my parents think that I should apply for it, but I keep shaking my head.

Its just hard sometimes to talk to Dell's Tech support when they read everything from a book or however they do it. I wonder if they don't use the Online troubleshooting tool that dell has on their website. Sometimes I can call, and get the same answers as the troubleshooting tool gave me

I haven't tried that, but it really does feel like they're reading a choose-your-own-story adventure: "If customer says this, do this."
