So my Nvidia manager says the card runs about 8-10 degrees hotter than what the fangui program is reading. From what i gather, fangui reads the bios, nvidia reads what? i would assume bios as well....

Anyway, while gaming (with zero OC'ing) the nvidia will read 81 degrees while fan gui reading 70 tops

    someting is screwy any thoughts?

Those temps seem a little high. I have my card OC'ed (in Sig) and I don't get above 74 and I OC'ed alot. You might want to download newer drivers for the card, and get the bios update from Dell's Website.

Which fangui are you using because I had to get a patch for mine because in I9Kfangui the program reversed the CPU and GPU temps, thus causing the fans to be slower than what they are supposed to be.

    Hope this helps.

Does the MobileForce drivers read the appropiate temperature? or should I check elsewhere?

Well I had the same problem with the normal Dell drivers. I9kfangui didn't see the same temp...when I switched drivers they read the same temp.

Uhmmm....didn't get your post, lol. What temperature did the new drivers get? the same as I9kfangui or the same as the previous drivers?

according to my computer, my temperature readings are the same. you might want to try updating the software or drivers. maybe that will make it matched up.

yea they are reading the same now with i9kfangui, i was on i8 didnt know the i9 was kicking around ( i had done the bios a few days ago)

odd part is, my temperatures still seem high in a cool environment, with ZERO overclocking, i even prop the screen side up with two cd cases directly on the rubber mats to allow maximum airflow, i am wondering why i am idling at 54-55

The gpu floats around 51-53C with the gpu fan on slow. High I am getting 47C now. I'm on the Normal Temp Control Profile in i9kfangui.

the new dell bios sucks a lot. cuz it used to make my idle temp around 32-35 but now without the fan control software it shoots up to 55 on idle which is pretty retarded.

USAFDude02 you have a fairly solid 6800 than, both of 9300s had tempertures hovering around 80-83 when playing F.E.A.R. and from reading alot of others had about that as well.

There spec'd to over 100c so 80s isn't going to kill your machine.

Irreguardless you may want to clean out the internals of your machine the Fan/Heatsink area on the right side can get fairly dust bunnied pretty quickly.

Yea oscarine is right on that one, also, try using thermal compound like arctic silver, the stuff the computer ships with is junk. I just did mine yesterday and dropped my idle times from 54-57 to 42-44, my gaming temps dropped from 82 to 67, it was worth the 10 bucks so far....i can overclock and not even attempt to worry now....
