my ESD is 10/2 but i am still in the build stage is there any hope that it will end up in boxing next week before my ship date?

 

I hate DELL and everything they stand for.

Their over seas staff are just beyond stupid and deceitful.

I have been lied to over and over and over again. It's not that I don't mind waiting, but lying about it ticks me off.

I have been delayed to the 18th October and I have not even been informed about it.

The freaks at CSR couldn't comprehend how on the 20th when I called and I was still in production that it would be impossible for my product to arrive on the 25th EDD since it takes 3/4 days up to boxing and 5/7 days shipping. mINIMUM 8 days = 28th.

They kept insisting "I cannot comment that it will not arrive sir". IMBECILES.

I feel like pouring burning oil on their lying pie hole.

 

why?? i ordered a pink 15" for my gf on 19th Sep, and the laptop already left the factory on 21st-sep. i thought they should've already cleared the 'old' waiting list before they start building new orders?

They extended my ESD to 10/10 because the "pink" color is still delayed and the LCD is still delayed. My neighbor ordered hers 2 weeks after me with the same specs (difference processor t7100 VS t7250) and she has already got hers... Its was delievered on Friday. I'm on my 3rd date already and still nothing but endless promises. A rep today told me I will probably have it by the end of the week, but my date is still 10/10???? Dells website says the pink is not delayed anymore, but mine is? And the rep was pushing me to change my order (cancel and reorder) and I would probably get it faster... that makes no sense to me, but does prove they are filling new orders before old ones. Dell you need to get your crap together or you will have nobody left to buy your stuff!

 

Im really just hoping they just delay my ESD next tuesday so my parents have a reason to cancel and i can just switch to a macbook that i will recieve much faster than a month....

 

well im in boxing now finalyl... but frankly i still believed dell is going to hold it untill my esd just to f u c k with me

From today on the T7250 is available also in the EU, but the T7100 and T7300 in no longer an option.

What does this mean for the orders with those CPUs? They will build them until there are CPUs available and then cancel the rest??

 

Your order wont be cancelled as far as I know.... They will either build you with the config you had asked or upgrade yours to a higher one probably.....

 

Are the T7100 still built by Intel or has the production of the T7250 taken over, and there is only so much left that has already been built?

 

They have not yet stopped the production of the T7100 as far as I know... And my laptop with the T7100 just two days ago crossed the Build Stage and went into Shipping Stage...

 

But yours is built in Malaysia, not in Limmerick, Irland?

 

still in the "build" stage currently. Been that way since 9/18. Its scheduled to ship 10/1 and im starting to worry it wouldn't make it through all the other build stages in 4 days time for it to get shipped

how would u find out if ur computer is to be built in ireland and not Malaysia or elsewhere?

 

I ordered mine on 9/24. Called the order status number and it says that my order is in the "boxing" stage, but it still has my ESD as 10/16. I guess they have to chop down the tree for the box still

If you ordered in Europe it will be built in Ireland, orders from USA in Malaysia. For any other I think that EMEA orders are also built in Ireland and any other in Malaysia.

 

mine is still work-in-progress and they have promised an edd of 4th oct

 

GOD!!!! Dell said they have no idea when the production is going to complete . And over on top of that, they say it will take 15 days after production completion to reach me. So atleast a 15 days delay! :cry:

 

yay mine has gone into production, since its being made like 2 hours drives from me it should arrive on monday

 

I think it will take more than 15 days after production because for shipping it takes nearly 3 - 5 days and for clearance at the customs it might take two weeks minimum.... Then counting the weekends it becomes roughly 3 weeks after production.... Damn

 

and i added nothing extra to thier base config other than the RAM and they say there is part shortage! pathetic!

 

The T5250 is a common processor ordered by budget concious ppl and that may be the reason for the delays....

 

just called them. was told that 10/03 ESD is total crap, they probably won't even get the parts in until first week of october...

i really want to hit that cancel button...

Wow...called Dell to check the status on my order and it shipped today. That's just 4 days from making the call! I guess my original ESD of 10/16 was Dell's way of playing conservative?

Does anyone know where these laptops ship from once in the US? They don't have any tracking info yet.

Hmm, you know what I have not. I'm in Canada, and they are shipping it with Purolator. When I try to view my order status on purolator.com it says:

"PLEASE CALL 1 888 SHIP-123 OR 1-888-744-7123 FOR INFORMATION ON THIS SHIPMENT."

I called and for tracking #'s with letters in them (such as mine), you have to speak to an actual agent...which I did not feel like doing. Absurd.

 

hey macgiver.. see.. they shipped your laptop a LOT earlier than they estimated...
You won't have updated tracking on the laptop until it reaches canada and goes through customs. After that.. they'll update it online and you can track where it is. you can also call (after it crosses the border) and they'll give you an estimated arrival date.

 

Hmm okay, thanks for clearing that up. Are you from Canada, and if so, did your order ship with Purolator?

 

just called and asked y my order hasn't shipped yet, since today was suppose to be the estimated ship date and found out there are lcd/cpu shortages and my order will be delayed.

My new ship date is 10/8.
