I think so. You?

yes it is great. the 1520 even offeres a better value it usually runs a bit cheaper than the 1420 and can have a faster graphics card in it too!
-
I hate 1520 people. They think they are so special. Don't you know a laptop is supposed to have great battery life and be very portable???
-
im gonna buy a 1420 and probably arrive next year lol
-
Actually the 1520 may be good for gamers, and still be portable. I think the Dell line has good battery life in general right?
-
pretty much depends what u do, typing with wifi disabled makes batteries run much longer than playing games
-
I love my 1420. It does quite an excellent job at everything I throw at it.
-
I get around 5 hours of battery life surfing the net, stuff like that

I love my 1420. It's my first notebook, but I wouldn't want anything smaller nor anything bigger.
-
The 1420 is somewhat chunky for a 14" WS laptop, especially with the 9 cell.
-
im looking to get either a 1520 or 1420 but dont know if 1420 is gonna be good with vista with 128 mb gpu -
yea its true but i went for a vostro 1400 cause its cheaper lol i regret now but w.e i like my vostro too ^^

I am very happy with my 1420 compared to my old 6000.
Although the weight is not the lightest, it is solid and a lot less bulky.

I have 1420 for about a week now, i think it is very protable and excellent size for everyday use. I have had or tried many laptops from 12" to 15.4" size. 14.1" seems the most practical. For my job, 12" is too small for my eyes, 15.4" is a bit heavy and big.
About the size. 1420 is average in size. About same as Sony or HP 14.1, Smaller then Acer 14.1. Thickness is not really a problem for me if the built-quality is good. I think 1420 is the most well built machine i have ever handled so far. My second choice will be HP dv2500t if the price can be similar.
The 1420 looks very portable and good is good overall a great computer for the price...
