??? Ugh, you can get an infinitely better eMachines unit for the same price. Dell's usually good value point is sadly lost here.
AHHH, I didn't know it was a 12 incher until I went to the configurator. Not so bad now, but others from Sony, Fujitsu, Panasonic and others still put it to shame, albeit at a higher price point. -
cool, thanks for the heads up Andrew!

if it supported a 755 processor (why doesn't it??) and an sxga display, then i'd return my new 600m for it. and it's thicker than a 600m too, while not being much lighter... dell fails at designing an 'ultraportable' yet again. too bad i don't have $4000 to spend on one of those sony's.

Bah, Fujitsu makes a better ultra port anyway.

The 700m is based on the AOpen 1551AW1 design which has been sold in Japan as the Hitachi Prius Gear J since early this year.
The screen is supposedly quite good, but it is a little hefty. I think WSXGA+ would be pushing it at 12.1". With the optical drive, it's just a hair over what I consider ultra-portable (sub-4 lbs). I haven't compared the dimensions, but it's almost the same weight as the Sony S series, which again I would consider slightly over the ultra-portable limit.Last edited by a moderator: Feb 2, 2015 -
it doesn't ship until september, and apparently doesn't ship with a 755. not much lighter than a 600m, and thicker. AND has about half the battery life. two thumbs down!
