Still in the build status Join my club. Dell why are you being sloppy.

 

I'll join your club. As I too am still in Build. But good going getting upgrades with Dell. I have read that alot of people have been able to get things. I called and complained and they won't even give me next day delivery. I just don't know what to do anymore. All of my excitement is gone and I really expect another delay. I don't see how its possible to get it shipped by the 28th.

 

I too am in the build club. Supposed to ship 08/28. Yeah Right.

I have managed to plead for $50.00 when I receive the machine and got free upgraded shipping.

I am joining too. Ruby Red Inspiron 1521 initially ordered 7/29, given est delivery date of 8/15, now 8/28. My printer has been delayed three times as of today so I do not think 8/28 is going to make its ship dates to all of us patiently waiting. Printer ordered 7/29, delayed to 8/11, then 8/24 (which is today) and now I go in and it is 8/31 shipping. Already upgraded to overnight, but dont feel that is enough for our pain and suffering. I do real estate and this is really holding my business up as I am out of the office more than in. I have to wait until I can get to my home office to look things up. Dell has really disappointed me tremendously!

 

I'm in boys! Been in the Build stage since 7/19....
Just tried to get some info via "live Chat" regarding the backorder status of the colored screens...namely the green. She said all she sees is that the colored screen is the reason for the delay. I told her I knew that, and I was trying to get any info wheather or not they have started to receive them. She didnt know squat, but she "said" she email the manufacturing dept., and would forward on any info she gets.
So....basicall I got zip, zilch nada.
Its very frustrating the Dell seems to have no communication between the various depatments

 

I got about the same information yesterday but it was not the color I was told it was the LCD's. Every time I get a different story. All they do is read from a script. It has been so much fun.

 

i'm in. being as it's already friday and im still in the build stage, i'm assuming that bad boy's not flyin on tuesday

 

Lololol "Build"... A special place which Dell hasn't allowed my order to reach yet. I think I'll start a "Pre-production" club for people who ordered before mid-July and make it in to a secret organisation

 

whooooooooooa!!! i'd cancel or go down there and offer to put that thing together myself.

 

this stage of my relationship w/ Dell reminds me of an old clingy, insecure girlfriend who wouldn't leave me alone; even after telling her several times that I'd like to "move on."

 

Did you call the automated number that the lady tells you it is In Production and in the build stage.

I just cancelled my order. Sorry guys but I am out of the club. I simply got tired of waiting and at this point I knew there was no way it was getting shipped Tuesday. I am going with a Sony Vaio CR series. Good luck to you all who are still waiting.

 

hehe... well im also part of the club i think. What does "Production" stand for? This is my second day on that freaking stage.........

 

it means "have a seat, undo your pants and get comfortable because you're gonna be here a while"

 

I'm joining this club too. Just chatted with a csr this morning and was told that the color, lcd, and wireless card was delaying my laptop. If my order gets delayed again I'm going to cancel and buy a sony vaio cr. As of right now I'm still in the build stage.

 

Did anyone else see Dell is upping their ad time on MSN and AIM??? Those same inspiron ads are up advertising that you will receive them in time for school! When they KNOW it won't happen! WTF

I'm still in build, though I can't complain much seeing as how there are so many people that ordered before me without laptop-satisfaction. What's the number to call where you can actually talk to someone? That lady won't tell me anything actually worth writing down.

Oh, and I also have a matching flamingo pink mouse on order from dell (I think it's a logitech mouse) that is currently in the "Build" stage of production. I ordered that one 8/8 as well- ETD 9/5- for the MOUSE.

Same thing is happening to me. I just got home from work and I checked my order status (2:30 AM), and it says we can't find any information on your order. I checked on the internet, and it doesn't say anything about my order. So I started to fear they cancelled my order without telling me or something. I looked on here and didn't see anything, but then I looked in these threads and saw your post. THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME FROM HAVING A HEART ATTACK.. What makes it worse is that Dell has no live support reps at this time of night. Argh... Lets hope it's just maintenance and they didn't "lose" their entire database of orders to "ease" the strain on the delays. lol.

Dell Latitude D830 here, ordered August 16th. Still in build as of this afternoon.

I guess I just left this club. I just found out I am in the boxing stage. Perhaps I will get my computer by 8/29 after all.

Yeah I had too. I ordered 7/14. Guess I need to count the calendar days for actual days in build....

42 days. Yikes.

 

my delay is not because of the stupid lcd screen anymore. I just am missing my processor. Lady told me that they got a shipment of processors in 2 days ago. Hope mine is in there.

 

You got me excited as I went with the green too.....but.....I'm still stuck in the abyss of the frickin BUILD stage

 

Still in build... my guess is that nothing for me will change until the video card options are back in supply, and for me that means the motherboard.

Yes! Me too, went from shipping to Boxing...wonder what Boxing consists of?

does that include flying it over the pond?

 

Boxing is where it gets packed, then shipped to the states. Shipping starts when DHL (or equivalent) gets it.

ah yes boxing is good. However it is not so good when it somehow jumps back to pre-production as mine just did. Hanging on to a sliver of hope.....
