Dells are fully customizable, the smaller size, led back-light, and media bay should be standard. there should be a number of santa rosa chips and video solutions to choose from...

It's also possible that they leave the Napa platform M1210s at the low-med end and then slot in a high end Santa Rosa M1210. This thing doesn't sound cheap.

When the XPS M1210 started selling, it was around $2500 for a well-equipped system.

Hmmmm, I'm with gohanssjn here. Seems too good to be true.

An anonamous tipster is rather vague. Furthermore I believe to have read some other anouncement that an asian company had just started shipping LED panels to Dell so they could introduce a LED notebook in 2008. We'll know soon enough though.

Santa rosa, combined with LED would be a great boost to battery life. If these specs are true, I think sony will have trouble selling their SZ5

M1215 would be the more probable choice if Dell keeps the MXXXX naming.

There was going a few notebooks with LED LCDs in 2007. I think these specs are true, but as other have said will cost some $$$$. I am looking for a small well equip notebook with 5 hours of battery and this rumored Santa Rosa refresh looks to be perfect. I have a 3GHZ Core 2 and 8800GTS Desktop thus I need something with some power and not a onboard gpu.
