the regular has an off-white (almost like a light grey) appearance and it is a little grainy. I've gotten used to it, and really don't have any problems with it but sometimes it does get a little annoying. There are certain angles that are better than others....sitting directly in front is better than sitting on the side. At the same time, I use that as a security feature when I'm at school. Nobody sitting beside me can read the screen usually.

If you are interested in the truelife (glossy screen), go to a computer store and look at other laptops that have WUXGA screen. You can get an idea from those as to whether you will like it or not. Alot of users love the glossy screen, but some don't because of the reflection.
    Hope this helps,
    SG

I have the TrueLife screen and like it. If you go someplace which sells the HP zd8000 series they appear identical but I have not had one side by side. I would guess it is a fairly good comparison though. Check CircuitCity or BestBuy they both had them in March at least.

As I said to me they are identical. After reading all of the stuff here I was woried as the only other thing I had seen was the HP but was happy when I got mine. I think they are at least very similar.
