Is there ANY way to somehow get these buttons to work for winamp. For example, if winamp is minimized, is there a way to go to the next song by just pressing the next button on the comp, not having to bring up winamp and doing it through the program?

the only thing i've gotten the buttons to work for is the programs that came with the computer, i.e. musicmatch, which i do not use.

    Thanks!

unfortunately, the media buttons are only effective towards windows media player and other big brand softwares. winamp doesnt work. but you can press b on the keyboard to go on the next song for winamp. but that is only effective with the winamp window on top.

Yes it does work with winamp.

Under the options menu-->preferences-->global hotkeys under general preferences.

make sure that "enabled" is checked. You shouldn't have to configure any actions or hotkeys.

if it does work with itunes, i have yet to figure it out. I've tried different things, but i can only get it to work if itunes is the selected window. Even if mini player is on top of all the windows, the media controls won't work unless you select it.

Anyone figured out a solution to this?

what about foobar? I've found foobar to be the music player of choice just because it has tabbed playlists like the older version of winamp did. and foobar uses next to no system memory too.

Last night I noticed the media buttons on the front of my Inspiron 6400 no longer control Windows Media Player unless that's the focused program/window, whereas before I could open it and minimize it to the toolbar and then control it using the media buttons. After a shut down they're still not working like before.

Does anybody know how I can fix this?
