If they keep those delays they will end up releasing montevina the next year!!!!
First they said May then June then July then ????.
-
-
-
Actually the limited version of Montevina comes out in July, the fully fledged one comes out in August. I dont think that counts as a delay though since technically they are still releasing a version of Montevina in July.
-
Nooo they said July 14, I saw that at engadget and many other important sites... But you are right they also said August for the complete platform (Wimax , ddr3 and the wireless Echo peak). They just said August... -
sonoritygenius Goddess of Laptops
Oh god! I can NOT take this waiting any longer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
"Save 25% on this XPS laptop!
Expires Wednesday, July 23, 2008"
So we might be waiting little longer ;-) -
sonoritygenius Goddess of Laptops
they must have REALLY have their inventory FULL of XPS' that it will take THAT long to clear before they can introduce any new updates !!!!
You're evilllllll imp for pointing that out to me !! lmao now I am ready to pull the trigger on the M1330!!!!! -
But in my opinion that the coupons end 23rd july does not necessery means that Dell will release their new xps line, so do not take that thay'll do as a fact. -
No, but the timing seems solid, since it's a week or so delay after the new chipset's launch.
I'm really not that interested in the new chipset-I'd just like better GPUs and LED backlight options on more systems (particularly on the 1730 or it's successor). -
Sony confirmed the launch of its montevina laptops tonight at 9pm Eastern.
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs...splay?langId=-1&storeId=10151&catalogId=10551
So montevina wont be delayed. -
-
i dont see any refreshed m1530.
-
-
sonoritygenius Goddess of Laptops
It just says the M1530 "now" comes with Penryn processor - nothing new..
I want the Centrino 2 OUT now! NOW! now! -
-
Okay, SONY's beating Dell?!? What the heck? Well, if Sony releases something with Blu Ray, a replaceable hard drive, a decent GPU, and an LED backlight... I do like Sony's stuff as far as that goes.
-
Where the hell is Intel's own announcement? The new Sony VAIOs just got official - Centrino 2 and available late July/early August.
-
Did Sony officially announce anything yet? That page still says 8pm Central...which was 35 minutes ago.
-
http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/14/sonys-new-vaio-z-fw-sr-and-bz-laptops-go-official/
http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/14/sony-vaio-hands-on-extravaganza/
I don't think Sony updated their website yet. -
Yeah I hit up their site at around 9:15 EST and nothing yet, so I went to Engadget where they had already posted about them.
-
-
Yeah that first post about the new VAIOs was posted at exactly 9PM ET.

That's the Canadian site. The M1730 has started at $1999 for a few weeks now.
-
Also, the Dell USA site still has all the processor options, i.e., T8300, T9300, T9500, etc. with no difference in prices.
-
Dell is offering $700 off their M1530s. My bet is that we see some changes in the XPS very soon. The offer has no experiation but has a notice saying "Limited Time Offer"...
-

@TheBossMan: They've had those deals before as well although it looks like they're allowing greater flexibility in components this time around.
@dondadah: Your link leads to a Dell Canada page, not Dell USA. -

Centrino 2 is officially official! Both Crave and eWeek have articles describing the new platform. Apparently a whole bunch of Centrino 2 based laptops are on their way soon!

dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
can wimax be purchased and be added on the express card cause i'm gettin the xps with the new cpu and i really dont want to wait for the intel to innclud something that they should of
-
@ ElectricTool: Yea now that I think about it you are right. They have had those low of deals before, but you are also right when you noticed that are offering more. They have had these going for like a month now at least, do you really think they are going to go too much longer on the same super savings? A refresh or something has got be soon...
-
Has anyone notice you now can get 2.4ghz and more as a configuration on the basic XPS m1530... or is this old.

-
From the sounds of that article, this is the full release - Intel graphics and all.
Awesome. -
^
so new integrated graphics will be available without another wait? -
-
Yea, I thought the chipsets with integrated graphics were delays further, but it doesn't look that way. The x200 review on the main page has the x4500.
-
Holy CRAP $1549 for this beast Toshiba?!?1 I can only hope!!!

Doesn't matter how long they have been offering $700 and how much junk they put in them because I couldn't care less. I have been waiting so long for Dell to release these processors and some new video cards in their XPS for quite some time now, and my point I was trying to bring up was that I personally believe Dell is planning something big soon because they can't go another month of selling XPS laptops at $700 off because if they do they will surely miss out on a whole lot of Dell customers that moved on because Dell didn't do anything with the new processors and video cards. -
Has anyone posted this HP dv5t yet?

Jeez the 9600 GT is really expensive...
