Probably not Saturday, but maybe next week.

Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
-
-
-
what is the story with the dell xps line? when is it coming out?
-
-
Will there be any chance of a release of a centrino 2 montevina updated version of the m1730 before the end of the year?
and yes, i write awesome -
The M1730 might not even be updated.
Chances or a new model? Slim.
I`d say that new gen Dells will be out at the beginning of the new year... -
I have merged your thread into the Official Montevina Dell thread. -
-
I thought dell started upgrading studio to montevina, what happened?
Are Dutch the only ones important enough to get the new processors -
yeh, dutch people are the best, they surely deserve to be the only country with montevina dells (sarcasm).
im hoping for a dell m1750, with LED, 9800GT/S SLI, Intel Robson II 4GB, Qx9300 and support for 8GB of RAM. and a slightly more subtle design.
but keep the lights, they look awesome (emergancy disco ftw) -
idk why people are actually thinking the xps are gonna be upgraded, dell already said they are integrating them with inspirons and studios, they wanna eliminate the competition with their own alienware laptops so ive heard. Idk about the 17 inch XPS but i highly doubt there will be any 1535 on the way.

The Studio XPS is what we're anticipating mid november: glass coating, montevina, and something 'refreshing' update.. (per insiders)
-
It better be worth the wait. I will be so annoyed if this new Studio XPS doesn't at least feature DDR3, switchable gfx, and a good LED screen res. Not to mention the design needs to be up to par with the M1330 as well. Luckily we only have 45 more days left of waiting. Hopefully it comes during thanksgiving break and i'll be happy.
-
but i doubt that they will come out with e new xps 1750,,
i am thinking they will have a 18" laptop along with the new studio xps 16, similar to hps 16 & 18
the best i hope for at the moment is that the 1730 will get the montevina update, cause i dont think the studio xps will be a gamers line (more enthusiast) so that small logitech LCD will be gone..
BTW how long has the german site had that montevina update, i just realized this now while checking the 3650..i feel stupid now -
a 16 or 18 inch studio would seem to be an obvious move, as the studio range is intended for multimedia junkies.
-
about studio 15 with montevina and ati hd3650.. it's a typing error... the video is the same, i mean the hd3450, there is no 3650 for the 15".. dell customer car confirmed this by phone.. they will correct the mistake soon
(ouch i was ordering it!
-
EDIT: Apparently not. -
I don't get it Talin. That didn't have to do with the montevina part but the video part.
-
Anybody? Not trying to bash Dell, but the current M1330 is ancient compared to what is being released by almost all other companies.
-
Please check for already pre-existing threads before posting, especially when they are on the first page or can be searched. -
No but seriously yes it's so true and it's so annoying just waiting for them to release Montevina laptops worthy of buying. I just want to see if they are competitive at all and it's taking them forever. If this new laptop isn't specced and priced competitively it will really be terrible. I really don't want to shell out some of my own money just to get a laptop that should be out from dell. -

Studio XPS refresh slated to hit before thanksgiving.. (hopefully)
-
Well, the Dutch site may have been the first to have had the Studio 15 with Montevina, but it's also the first where they have completely removed it again... Thursday seems to be Dell's 'update day', so I checked again now and it's gone... Instead, for the highest end Studio 15 model, they now refer to the XPS 1530...
Guess this has something to do with the ATI HD 3650 being an error apparently, but apparently also Dell needs to first remove the model completely, before they can fix it... I guess they'll add it again next Thursday or so. -

The 23rd of October ..... holds in store, a surprise
-
You know this ......... how? -
Seems like Apple will release their models before Dell this time. Imagine that.
-
Maybe it should be:
October 23,
Holds in store,
A surprise.
Where did you get this date, or is it just a guess? I'd venture to say, it's a guess. -
-
There are too many typos now adays on websites. I had to confirm typing errors with Lenovo and now dell ones too.
-
Lenovo's website has been plague with errors and typos lately. I remember configuring one system with a price of over 25 grand, LOL!
-
Oct 23rd would be awesome! Im trying to configure a laptop so that my Aunt can purchase it for my cousin. The 1530 is great and all but the refresh is slated for november and his b-day is nov 8th. Im trying to find out if instant gratification is worth it over waiting a week or so.
-
I've noticed that the XPS line has been at Dell's website for a bit more than a year. I was wondering, since I will be purchasing a notebook around next month, when will they update the XPS line or atleast include new higher-end laptops?
Thanks in advance! -
-
cant wait
-
You'll be waiting another month at least.
-
Well, technically another month is already halfway through November.
They're now behind APPLE even. They used to be first, and incredibly slow companies like Apple, HP, and Sony are beating them. These had better be worth it.
Give my a reasonably priced system with Blu Ray, at least a Geforce 9700GTS, and LED backlighting...pretty please? All I need is LED backlighting on the 1730 even... -
I see a few links including a non-stickied 'official' this and that but after reading pages and pages, I still cannot find any real information...
...which could just mean that no one knows.
Since I want to buy a laptop in the coming weeks, I am trying to decide if I should go with the HP DV5T which I notice is also very popular here...or if I should wait.
The ONLY reason I'm not wanting the DV5T is the glossy reflective finish that looks like a fingerprint zoo after 1 hour of use and actually looks really gross to me
But the reviews, specs, and price are right.
So why has Dell taken so long and what are their plans?
A link or summary would be great. -
They already have them in the studios.
-
Right, maybe I should have been more clear.
Since I plan to use this for equal parts business, productivity, and gaming - I'm curious if the XPS line is done and no more refreshes or what might happen there since I was reading on these boards about 'November' but I can't find where the details (high-level or low-level) about what is supposed to happen in Novemeber are at.
Thanks.
NOTE: I posted this in general although it is somewhat related to the XPS as well so if needed, this thread can be moved to the XPS forums.
Also the Studio line can go no higher than a HD 3450 while the DV5T which prices the same (if not cheaper in some cases) can come with a M9600... -
But an update in november? That's pretty rediculous.
-
-
When does Dell usually release their new line of notebooks? I'm looking at the Dell M1330 for college next year, but I'm sure they'll come out with a new 13-15" laptop within the next 6-7 months. Eventually I'm thinking Blu-Ray and a much improved battery with upcoming models.
-
Likely before Christmas for the new 13 and 16 inch Studio XPSes. Right now an exact date is anyones guess.
Battery life will improve some, since the Montevina platform is more efficient than Santa Rosa. Batteries aren't getting any better.
Greg -
I'll be looking for the new ones before Christmas then so I can compare them to the $1300 MacBook that Apple will release next month. Are there a lot of new models right before summer that come out?
-
November time frame is a very good bet.
-
-
chipset , and far more advanced than core 2 duo montevina whatever we have now. -
I know they unveiled them 4 days ago, I thought reviewers were still waiting to get them. Who does better in terms of battery life? Depending on which cell you get, how good is the battery life of a Dell laptop?
-
You can get a dell with several different capacity batteries. The 9 cells get VERY good battery life.
