So, perhaps the SEC4457 is better than the AUO panels that ship with the 1420/1400. But it does come with its own problems. Ive posted about these lines in the past but haven't posted pictures. Another user has actually said he had them too, but when I contacted others they said that they don't see them. Im fine tuned to the details when I pay $1000+ for anything, so again I know this issue is minor, and still this panel is far better than the AUO1447, but I believe it goes to show that Dell does buy second grade/low quality panels to put in laptops to save a few $. I forgive them, capitalism does have its flaws, but great nonetheless. :D

Disclaimer: If you have a SEC4457 and would like to consider it flawless, please dont read on. For those of you that dont mind, please continue. I have replaced my panel 4+ times during my 21 day return policy. The first 3 times I received 2 defective SEC panels (both refurbs) and 1 was the wrong resolution 1280x800. The 4th replacement was a like to like replacement of the entire laptop, which again as with the original one came with an AUO1447.

The SEC is worlds better than the AUO. I don't claim to have horrible viewing angles. I do think it could go a littler brighter. And from a dead on view, there is no gray lines or screen bleed.

My only problem with this panel is from a left angle. I can see light lines running vertically. I know this is minor, buy when my girlfriend and I watch movies, I usually sit on the left and in letterboxes and dark scenes, these really annoy me.

The reason for the post I guess is just for reassurance that my panel isn't defective. I guess I would feel better if I knew there was nothing I could do about the situation. So Im just asking if any one else can see these. Posted are a few of my pics. :(

*Posted so far is the dead on view with no lines, oddly enough I cannot get the other pic up.

This is the pic with the lines.Theyre very faint, but one is about 1/4 of the way in from the left, the other about 1/4 of the way in from the right. The one on the right is about 3 inches thick, the one on the left only about 1 inch thick.
