Dont rush to put it down just yet, remember the E1505 and E1705 first came out with only GMA 950, but now you can get them with better video cards, theres a chance the XPS M2010 could be available later on with better video as well.

Hmmm... What you think - worth it?

    Inspiron M2010
    Intel® Core® T2600 Duo Processor (2.16GHz/667MHz FSB)
    Genuine Windows® XP Professional
20.1 inch WSXGA+ Wide Screen with TrueLife™ and Integrated Web Cam
    2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms)
Slot Load DVD Drive on XPS M2010
    256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1800
    200GB (2 X100) 7200RPM SATA Hard Drives
Integrated Creative SoundBlaster High Definition Audio
    No Microsoft Office
    No Security Subscription
    No ISP requested
    Adobe® Acrobat® Reader 6.0
    Intel 3945 802.11a/g Dual-band Mini-Card
Integrated 10/1000 Network Card and Modem
Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal(2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate)
Additional 150W AC Adapter for XPS M2010

Subtotal (before CA tax or CA e-waste fee): $3564

*This is only $175 more than the subtotal I was given for the M1710...

Not sure - which one to pull the trigger on. With the 1710, that 512MB 7900GTX is looking like a better way to go (not to mention the cool lights - lol).

the 2010 has the cool factor...but if you're going to spend that much why not just get a desktop? I would probably grab the M1710 with the 7900 GTX. Remember you can always grab an external drive and bigger monitor if that's what you want.

Thats true. Appreciate the input Aivyn. I guess I was looking at the 'cool' factor of the 2010. Decisions... Decisions... LOL

well the 2010 isn't quite a desktop, but it isn't quite a laptop. If I was choosing between that and a dekstop, and money wasn't an issue, I'd buy the Renegade. I mean the ShowStopper, cause $10,000 is ridiculous.

for hdd for laptops, i only choose the small capacity ones (60gb) with 7200rpm so that i can operate the system fast...and thats it...for storage, i can use desktop internal hdd (with cover) for realiability and big capacity

    M1710 > M2010

That video card and res is just bad for that thing

For the price, get a M1710, thats heavy enough

the m2010 is a portable desktop; perfect for lan parties and the like. You wouldn't wanna be carrying this thing around anywhere else. the m1710 however is a desktop replacement laptop, as in a very big laptop. Different comps for diff. uses; comparin em is pointless

I'd love to get one of these. It'd be perfect for LAN parties and such. I'm willing to sacrifice some mobility for performance; but the problem is the fact that my M1710 has more power than it does, so I'll just stick with this thing.

Donovan36 thats freaking hilarious.LMAO. Man. phew. Yeah the notebook looks nice but this thing isn't ment to be carried arround. It doesnt even mention anything about a battery. It deffenitely would be bad ass to own.

20.1 inch WSXGA+ Wide Screen with TrueLife™ and Integrated Web Cam
