I have a feeling ive been screwed up pretty bad by Dell a bit more than other people and just wanted to compare here.
*I ordered my M1330 on the 7th of July (Before all the delays)
*It then got delayed a month to 07AUG date (Like everyone else..okay..whatever)
I did not get notified officially..i had to look it up
*Then another delay to 21st August (now 1month and 3/4ish)
*THEN my order was CANCELLED! on 07AUG!! and the ESD now the 12SEP
(1month like new orders)
they said it was for a 'price match' and i got $100 refund, and said the order hadnt changed the shipping date
*Then Delayed AGAIN! til the 17th of September!! (ABOUT 70 DAYS TOTAL!!!)
*ive only recieved one official email notification and the $100
*I keep getting rejected and told I'm wrong when i try to explain this.
Anyone else heard of a worse case? and what should i do ppl?
Thanks
Joel

Mine is a very similiar case, I ordered on the 9th of July, got delivery put back from 3rd of August to the 22nd and then put back to the 3rd of October. I canceled it and it turned up the next day
(30th of August). Problem is the specification isn't correct but Dell won't change it so nothing I can do other than order a replacement and return this one which is possible - quoted 2 month wait or accept it is a slightly lower spec to what I ordered and live with it. So I have ordered the Sony SZ691 and will give the XPS to someone else.
-
So have you called and spoken to them? Asked why yours is so late compared to others? There are others who, not only have received theirs but 2 replacements because of inferior design before you got yours.
Have you asked for concessions? Read the article 'Getting Money Back' Below. -
Well, I just got a call from the courier today, and mine will be delivered tomorrow. I ordered on the 31st August, and will be getting it 7th September, just some 7 days later.
Mine was built from scratch, has the new 2.4Ghz processor in it, 2GB ram, 160GB 7200RPM HD, wireless N, Office 2007 Pro, NIS 2007, LED Screen, (no finger print reader.)
And my Dell rep told me that as long as I did not get the red case, or the finger print reader, there would be no delays, it will be at my door in about 2 weeks. (1 week now)
At least where I am. The Rep told me they have orders sitting there waiting for a single part in some cases for nearly two months, and some customers simply refuse to change or alter their order.
Each country and case is different. -
Very true, each country/case does differ..
for the record i got 1.8GHZ, tuxedo black, fingerprint reader and LED screen. So i dont really know, my CSR whos taken over my order told me on several different times it was a)the webcam, b) the case c) the LED screen and d) the palmrests. :-( .
But still, i would have thought that 2 months and cancelling my order was a bit strange.
Flamenko...to your post, i have read "getting money back" or that thread, but everytime i seem to talk to her and ask to talk to her superior, she puts me on hold and tells them not to budge. i keep getting "dell do not have any sort of compensation policy" and she tells them to say that my whole "cancellation" was not actually a cancellation but that my order is as normal.
shes monopolized my order
Ive even tried ringing up and saying "i dont want to talk to her"
but it says shes managing my order and that i have to or something -
Refuse to speak to her, stuff a supervisor, go to a manager with a formal complaint, and get your money back.
You cannot be refused the opportunity to speak to a Manager, I say she has stuffed up and is playing you. Issue a formal complaint and demand a manager call you back.
Keep moving up the chain of command, trust me, most middle and upper managers will not want to deal with it, and just usually get annoyed and tell their underlings to damn fix it. Well that is what I do
One cannot tolerate stupidity. -
Mu co-workers ordered a 1330 2 months ago and it still hasn't shipped -
call them and tell them "i want to speak to escalations dept" dont go any further when they ask for your info get stern... tell them im not giving you any info... period... i want to speak to escalations... if they ask again repeat yourself.. dont say anything else... at this point be somewhat mad but still respectful... simply say ive spoke to 3 or 4 reps now and apparently the csr dept cant help me, either get you supervisor or get me over to escalations... usually once you mention escalations usually they know you are serious...im sending you a pm hang on hope this will help you out

This is off topic for this thread and I'm sorry, but who is offering 2.4 processors on the m1330? I looked on the US and UK site and didn't see the option above 2.2. Help? -
Which is strange because I have looked at various other countries sites, and it is not being offered, WOW I wonder who else got a 2.4Ghz ????? -
thanks for posting guys! Awesom help left right and center!...once i get through to a rep from escalations (or a manager etc) and explain my situation (pretty much what ive said here)..what should i say? ...do i simply brutely ask for refund? ask them what they are going to do about it?... or how do/should i word it?
Thanks again
