Since Dell announced XPS M140 model, their web site has quietly display the new Inspiron 630m which replaces 600m model. And since both carry 14.1" WideXGA resolution...I wonder what's the difference between these 2 models besides price...

Seem like XPS M140 support external TV Tuner which is requirement for Windows XP Media Center....Inspiron 630m don't have this option..

I believe service is the essence on XPS model, but the price difference is so much, I wonder who is interested on XPS since both using integrated Intel graphics....

They're the same thing from what I can tell, the 630m is just mroe oriented to small business, they're not promoting the media options at all. In the global markets it looks like Dell is using the 630M instead of the XPS140 name as well.

only differences i can see is

    1) You can't get Windows Media Center 2005 as an optional OS
    2) No TV tuner option (that's an external USB tuner anyway, so you could still get it on your own)
    3) The hard drive options do not include a 100GB hard drive and no 60MB 7200RPM option

And the name is different. That's all.

As far as media options go, neither of these laptops is a multimedia wonder machine, they both have integrated graphics so not a good choice unless you are using for business or strictly school work, they might play dvd's okay, but dont expect any hardcore gaming with an integrated graphics solution.
