I canceled a replacement a week ago because it had a 5400rpm hard drive (I used to have 7200), so now Dell is sending me a replacement with the right hard drive. But the problem is that I think they're giving me the wrong graphic card.

On the specs page in my account, it says "Module,Card,Graphics,NVIDA 128MB,G86." I'm not an expert at this stuff, but I'm pretty sure it's not the 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, which is on my canceled replacement.

I kept calling Dell for the specs on the new replacement, but they said I had to wait. I found out the specs today... And it has already been shipped.

I guess I have to call Dell, but I'd like to know your thoughts on what I should do.

Looks like you'll be needing yet another replacement.

Start planning on what you want them to give you as compensation...cause this is a major screwup...You need 256MB of video to do your job...it's mission critical...your boss is on your case about it...

    Make up something good :)

You should walk away from this screwup with no less than an extra 50 bucks in your pocket..maybe more...

i think its funny how its expected to get compensation from dell, where if it was ANY other company you would get a sorry and a pat on the back for your troubles, and thats it. I'm not saying you shouldn't get money back just pointing out the obvious i suppose.

Well, I'm sure this will bore you, but this is my horror story:

I sent in my notebook for replacement on Aug 8. I waited 2 weeks, so I decided to call Dell. They said they lost my notebook. They didn't even contact me beforehand.

So they told me that they were building a new replacement, but I found out that it had a 5400RPM hard drive, but I had a 7200RPM on my old one. So they canceled it and told me they'd build me another one.

I got a call today, telling me that my new replacement has been shipped. I log in to Dell and find out that the specs are all OK except the graphic card.

So, I've been dealing with this issue for a month...

I know there are many of you that have waited longer than me because of the delays, but I'm just as frustrated.

Oh well. More complaining for Dell!

EDIT: OH MY GOD. I just double checked and they are still giving me a 5400RPM hard drive.
