Does anyone know about when the "new" Dell Latitude E series will be released? ..I know it was on engadget about being released soon, but does anyone know when soon might be? I am wanting to go ahead and buy a lap top but if this on is coming out in the next month or two I would love to wait on it.....Thanks in advance!

Please no one say anything about looking into their crystal ball....I know this isn't possible...lol

Its certainly uncertain (no pun or oxymoron intended). The E series was slated for May if I recall correctly. Dell's recent actual market release dates have been quite distant from the times when the news was first leaked on engadget (i.e. Latitude XT). You should check the Direct2Dell blog as any official news of an upcoming release would be first posted there. Secondly, I can check with some contacts at Dell (last time these guys were spot on regarding Penryn release). If I find anything I will post back on this thread.

Assuming the E series is in the works, so to speak, I think we'll see the D630 refreshed and updated with Penryns in large part because it is cost-effective to run with a pre-existing model. But the D630 is not a very good looking laptop, in my opinion, and as aesthetics are becoming a predominant consideration in laptop purchases, among other things (weight, build, etc), I can't imagine the E series would come out much later than May.
