    The new studio 17s with only 900p screens!??

    Does anyone know if dell is only offering these 900p screens because there's a shortage of 1080p's or are they trying to get ppl to buy the studio xps if they want the 1080p??

    I've been waiting forever it seems for a 1080p screen to pop up on the configuration menu and it doesnt seem like its happening! :(

    I am in the same boat, from what I hear they stopped offering them a while ago (about a month or two after the laptops release.) It does not appear they will be adding that option, you can always call to place the order and ask then it is the only way to know for sure.

    Dell does not offer any 17" 1080p screens. Only 15.6" and RGB 16" in 1080P

    They stopped selling the upgraded screens in Canada a couple of months ago. I ordered one back in December and after 3 months and still no EDD I went with the XPS16...to get the RGB but you lose the i7 720 option as only the WLED can be ordered here with that config....so I ordered the 620 and an ssd drive to make up for it!!! will have it tonight so I can see first hand what this screen is like. cheers!!!
