    Or does the laptop have a receiver built it, and the remote works for it?

    Its pretty hokey if your on the go a lot with th the laptop, for a desktop, or if your primarily using the laptop as a desktop it works fairly well I suppose, it came with my outlet 1505, I tried it once, not even sure where it is now.
